Getting to and from North Stradbroke Island:

Travelling to Stradbroke Island by ferry takes around 40 minutes with the boats leaving from Toondah Harbour in Cleveland.

If you do not have a car, catch the air conditioned train from Central Station in Brisbane to the last station - Cleveland. There is a free shuttle bus to the ferry terminal. Train Time Table and Fares here.

Travel by high speed water taxi from the bayside village of Clevelend to Dunwich, and catch the North Stradbroke Island bus to Point Lookout where you can hire a quality mountain bike and binoculars.

From there you use the detailed map of Point Lookout, together with a whale idenitifcation chart, and visit the series of whale watching platforms situated high above the surf on Whale Rock, Frenchmans, Deadmans and Cylinder headlands.
